It’s 1am on a Friday morning; I’ve just got in the door and decided to listen to the new release ‘Settling Down’ from Everette’s EP ‘Simple As That’. Can I be honest? This song feels like exactly what I needed to hear; it’s got a whole lot of heart.

The frontman, Brent Rupard, wrote this single-handedly. Brent is very open about expressing their personal journey and introducing new adventures. It almost feels as though I’m going through it alongside, and that’s a really hard emotion to invoke in me, but Brent’s nailed it!

It feels like quite a blues-y single, but I find it really uplifting and comforting, due to its transparency combined with a homely vibe.

You can catch them at the following venues in August, on their UK tour ‘Glad To Be Here.

4 August – King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, Glasgow (with Gary Quinn)
5 August – 45 Vinyl Café, York
6 August – Band on the Wall, Manchester (with Gary Quinn)
7 August – Snape Maltings Concert Hall, Suffolk

Speaking about returning to the UK, Rupard says:
I’ve always loved heading across the pond to hang out with my friends in the UK, but this year’s trip will hit different. It’s my first ever headline tour over there, and I couldn’t be more excited to finally make this happen. Every visit has been filled with so much love and support – now it’s time to give that back with a full Everette show.

Everette have performed at the Grand Ole Opry twelve times, toured extensively throughout the United States, the UK, Germany and Ireland, and shared stages with artists including Larry Fleet, Brothers Osborne and The Cadillac Three.

I’m excited to hear the rest of the new EP and what Everette have in store next!
