As we enter June, we prepare to celebrate all things Pride; including Pride Cymru as it returns to Cardiff Castle on June 13th & 14th. This year we’re treated to all drag queens, kings, performers and nostalgic headliners. Spread across multiple stages, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Starting off the day from 11am, Barracwda will lead the parade around the city centre. Starting on the end of Westgate Street and finishing at the end of Greyfriars Road, the parade will lead everyone to Cardiff Castle for approximately 1pm. Barracwda are Cardiff’s Afro-Brazilian inspired percussion band and have been leading the parade for many years. They are always the highlight of the parade; full of energy and colour.
Pride Cymru will take place inside the castle across the two days, so there is so much to try and catch whilst there. We’re here to try and narrow down some great acts that you shouldn’t miss.
Kate Nash - Saturday Main Stage
Most will know Kate Nash for her massive hit, ‘Foundations’, but most recently, she has been fighting for the rights of thousands of musicians across the UK. She is one of the most vocal advocates for grassroots venues and artists. Making everyone aware when another venue closes and fights to keep them open. Speaking out about promotion companies who could and should be doing much more to fund music and creative arts across the UK. Even if you only know the one song, Kate Nash is not to be missed this weekend; let’s keep live music accessible.
Divina de Campo - Saturday Main Stage
We’re not strangers to seeing Ru Paul queens at our Pride events and this year we have a couple! Including some Welsh queens, so keep an eye out! But Divina de Campo rose to fame on season one on Drag Race UK by finishing second place. She has since starred in many theatre shows, including SpongeBob The Musical as Plankton. Her laugh is infectious and one to watch this weekend.
Liam J. Edwards - Saturday Main Stage
If you’re a Welsh speaker or not, you will enjoy Liam’s music. Liam J. Edwards performed on Y Llais in 2025 with mentor Bronwen Lewis. Get yourself over to main stage for their set and introduce yourself to the world of ‘popera’ (pop and opera).
Other Main Stage acts we recommend: Carrie Sauce, Catrin Feelings, Marmalade, Justin Drag, Chae with a C & Local Rainbow.
Acts we recommend on the Community Stage: Deerest, Jolene Dover, Glas, Wayne King & The Choir with No Name
There is still time to buy your tickets for this year. You can buy them here.
