Aberdeen’s genre-fluid heavy rock newcomers The Tempilstiks are set to release their debut EP on June 5th, 2026 — a loud, unpredictable and emotionally charged collection of tracks that push beyond traditional genre boundaries.

Blending heavy rock foundations with elements of reggae, punk and metal, The Tempilstiks have quickly built a reputation across the North East of Scotland for their explosive live shows and refusal to stay in one lane. Describing genre as “a playground, not a box,” the band’s sound moves between atmospheric chaos, massive riffs and raw energy while keeping connection and emotion at the core.

Formed in Aberdeen in 2025, the band began as “four guys meeting to jam and have a few beers at weekends,” before evolving into one of the area’s most exciting emerging heavy acts. Since then, The Tempilstiks have performed at venues including Tunnels, Drummonds and Krakatoa in Aberdeen, as well as the Balaclava in Fraserburgh, steadily growing a loyal following through headline shows and relentless live performances.

The upcoming EP follows a string of independently released singles including ‘Over and Over’, ‘Number 1’, and most recently ‘Doghouse (Live from the Rusty Nail)’, released on May 20th, 2026. The release captures the band’s heavy rock roots while showcasing the experimental edge that has earned them praise from multiple independent music publications.

Alongside the EP release, the band are preparing for a busy run of live dates. They just recently headlined the first Metal in Moray Festival. They also have other appearances lined up including MSR Festival in Fraserburgh, an official EP launch show at Drummonds in Aberdeen, and a support slot with Japanese rock band Electric Eel Shock later this year.
