Australian five-piece band, South Summit recently embarked on a four-date tour, after announcing their newest album, ‘Run It Back’, which will be released on the June 12th 2026. They have been taking the UK by storm on their shows, supporting The Terrys.
Their London performance, at the renowned Highbury venue, The Garage, was their final date, and a fitting end to the tour, with fans pouring in as the doors opened, filling the room with chatter in anticipation for the show. The show itself was a genre-blending showcase of some of the greatest new Australian talent, with songs like ‘Top Of The Hill’, a song about being loved for who you are, resounding through the crowd, and their latest single, ‘On The Dash’ echoing through the audience, with the room singing the chorus back at the band.
The bands stage presence, combined with their expressive lighting and the unity of their sound, was a truly unique experience and left fans excited for the album. Those who came early for The Terrys were dancing along, phones up recording the moment, presumably to brag to their friends about when South Summit begin selling out bigger UK venues, as their unique sound; a blend of hip hop, indie and reggae, combined with such an exciting live atmosphere, is unlike any other band on the current scene.

Having formed in 2020, releasing their first album some four years later, they have certainly had time to perfect their music, and with almost 300k monthly listeners on Spotify, their trajectory is certainly on the up. Their first album, ‘The Bliss’ was a resounding success, debuting on the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Albums Chart, and reaching #10 on the Vinyl Charts. The mark of their debut album also opened their work to an international audience, embarking them on global tours, which they have continued since.
On one of the warmest days of the year in the UK so far, people were in high spirits as they queued at the doors of The Garage, the noise of football fans parading down the street cutting through their excited conversations about the night. As South Summit pierced through the quiet murmurs of those at the back, they called for everyone to make their way to the front to take in the sound of the band, and revel in the moment as their music played into the night. Their set had fans on the barrier screaming along to every word, with frontman Zaya Reuben pointing the microphone at them for a crowd solo. The crowd continued singing and dancing into the final song, and as new audience members slowly trickled in, they joined the fun and chaos of the crowd. It was difficult to find anyone not enjoying the music, as even the bartenders at the back were swaying along.

After the final song, as their sound echoed into the darkness outside, and they thanked the audience, there was a rush to the merch table, as people tried to get a hold of some tour-exclusive or album merch. With the reception from the crowd at the London performance, it will be exciting the see the impact, both local and global, of their genre-blending second album.
South Summit handed the night over to the Terrys, who brought a strong performance of their own classics, as well as some new tunes from their July 2025 self-titled album. The night was an amazing showcase of new Australian talent, and the tour has certainly got people excited about new and future music.
