Night Currents Festival returns to Portsmouth on Saturday 4th October, showcasing the UK’s most exciting established and rising talent in the alternative indie and post-punk music spheres. Bands will play across 2 stages at The Wedgewood Rooms and The Edge of The Wedge, with zero clashes between artists.

Three new acts have just been added to the line-up: Picture Parlour, The Pill, and Y.

The first highly anticipated announcement was met with strong praise when it was revealed in May that Swim School and Honeyglaze would be co-headlining Night Currents 2025, including hype from indie tastemakers Dork.

Indie rock darlings Picture Parlour will bring a refreshing slice of sleazy and cinematic rock ‘n’ roll to Night Currents, having supported The Last Dinner Party on tour, and Bruce Springsting at Hyde Park.

Isle of Wight jank punk duo The Pill will be catching the ferry across to Portsmouth to serve raw, unfiltered chaos and cheeky punches. They’ve nailed the UK punk circuit, touring with HotWax and Panic Shack, and impressing rock legends Green Day, who then invited The Pill to open their recent Luxembourg show.

Fat White Family and PREGOBLIN offshoot Y will also be returning to Portsmouth this October. The South London supergroup deliver thrashing art rock with electro jazz elements, and have rightfully played shows with Fat Dog, KEG, and Opus Kink.

The lineup currently consists of co-headliners Swim School and Honeyglaze, new additions Picture Parlour, The Pill, and Y, and already announced Home Counties, Grandmas House, Alien Chicks, and Shtëpi. More acts will follow.

Scottish indie-rockers Swim School have rapidly climbed to the top of any alt music fan’s must-see list, having supported the likes of Inhaler, The Amazons, and Pale Waves in recent years and winning crowds over with their shoegaze-meets-slacker grunge sound, polished with an infectious indie shine. They have just announced that their self-titled debut album will arrive on Friday 3rd October - the day before Night Currents Festival! So expect a set brimming with fan favourites and brand new tracks.

Co-headlining with Honeyglaze makes perfect sense. Riding the high of the release of their sophomore album ‘Real Deal’, the South London trio had a string of sold out shows across their last two UK headline tours. Gritty and atmospheric, Honeyglaze’s live sets are both heavy-hitting and emotionally weighted - sure to be a hit for the Night Currents crowd.
