Many fans purchased tickets to see Beth McCarthy on her Hot & Stupid tour back in May, but due to illness, it was rescheduled to October. It was absolutely worth the wait!

Bringing the Welsh Lesbian of Pop on tour with her, we were treated to Catty adding to the hot and stupid vibes of the show. If you’re unfamiliar with Catty, then jump on the hype train immediately. She performing in a gorgeous long fishnet-esque dress, bringing elegance and sex appeal to Bristol. Songs we recommend you start with: ‘I Dated A Monster’, ‘Prized Possession’, and ‘Joyride.’

Throughout Beth’s tour dates, she’s encouraging fans to dress up as different era’s of her career. With Bristol having the ‘hot & stupid’ theme for the tour, Beth ran straight up onto the stage rocking the leather and fingerless gloves. She started with ‘Cubicle in Heaven’ which later on became a segment of the show where fans would confess their sins.

Beth jumped into the crowd, demanding fans start their confessions with, “forgive me mother for I have sinned…” We were treated to some fantastic confessions which had everyone’s jaws on the floor. The first one confessed that they were previously a Mormon missionary who now dates someone who had a husband - and the husband is still paying instalments for their shared mattress! The second confession was a little juicier. This person had their first threesome experience with their best friend and their boyfriend. The best friend discovered she was gay during this and the confessor continued to date the boyfriend instead! But - they’re all still BFF’s!

If you haven’t attended a Beth McCarthy show, you’re in for a treat. You’ll experience hot sweaty sex appeal with a side plate of deep meaningful conversation. Beth slowed things down and sang us her unreleased song, ‘How Am I Supposed to Love Myself?’ This hit both the fans and Beth very hard since it was Trans Awareness Day during her Bristol show.

During the encore, the band came back onto stage with Beth McCarthy. Beth, however, had snuck up through the accessibility area and down into the crowd unnoticed until a spotlight lit her up ready to sing ‘Treat Me Like A Rockstar.’

The whole show was a non-stop party and if I could, I would be travelling alongside Beth to see her on more dates around the UK. We look forward to seeing Beth again soon!
